Back in the Spring, every Sunday a handful of vinyl collectors would gather at Magnet in the afternoon to play some of there most treasured discs that they’ve picked up over the years. There was no real music policy, apart from it should be ‘Sunday’ music. Soul, Folk, Jazz, Library, Soundtracks, Reggae, World Music, Early Electronics, Ambient, anything was allowed as long as it fit the atmosphere. We couldn’t be bothered coming up with some clever name, so we simply called it ‘Sunday Session’
It’s been a few months since the last gathering, and as one of the regular selectors, Yosuke, is leaving Shanghai, they've decided to put together one last session before the summer is out, this time at YunCai Café! 9 of Shanghai’s biggest vinyl collectors will each bring an hour of their finest wax to ChangShou park for an afternoon and evening of sounds from all over the musical spectrum, but strictly Sunday vibes.
As well as the usual drinks and snacks from YunCai Café, Shanghai’s PIE SOCIETY will be setting up shop with a selection of their amazing British style pies and Jameson’s will be setting up a stall selling Jameson’s, Lime and Ginger for only 20rmb!
As with previous Sunday Sessions, this is a family friendly event. YunCai is located in ChangShou park so there is plenty of room to run around or lie about in the sun, and we will keep the venue non-smoking until 9pm. It's sunny out, why not go listen to nice songs, eat pies, drink good drinks and relax!
