Body Hammer organiser and resident,Co-owner of the World Unknown empire.
Joe Hart does not remember the past and wants to repeat it. He runs London clubnight Body Hammer, a good old fashioned Chicago jack party for those that know or can be bothered to find it. He also co-runs World Unknown with Andy Blake, a Brixton based night that focuses on the darker industrial sound played in European clubs such as Boccaccio and Ancienne Belgique. Joe and Andy run the World Unknown record label, aimed at putting the sounds of their night on to plastic.

Bassment is a techno minimal oriented event hosted at The Shelter, established in early 2011. Originally aiming to bring dark, progressive techno rhythms of Shanghai producers and DJ’s. However, over many months it has morphed into a showcase of experimental, live and new techno minimal as well as keeping its original goal of creating an atmosphere of bass and progression.
Bassment has heard its fair share of techno minimal and is planning on giving back to this growing creative community. As a way of displaying the appreciation, Bassment is compiling a set of original works of its DJ’s and producers that have defined, not only Bassment but also the entire techno scene in Shanghai and China.
Friday 9th May - Antidote presents - Pixelord, 813, Saburov [Moscow / Hyperboloid Records Tour 2014

We brought out Pixelord and Saburov a few years ago for a brief China tour, and it was one of our favorite bookings over the years. This time around, we've added Russian hot-shot producer 813 [Mad Decent, Fools Gold Records] to the line up. They're on a tour taking them from Moscow thru Siberia, then down to Beijing and Shanghai, before hitting South Asia. These guys are making some of our favorite records recently, a bright shiny futuristic bass music genre called #internetghetto that draws comparisons to Hudson Mohawke, Rustie, Burial, and other twisted pop, but distinctly their own.
Saturday 10th May – Acid Pony Club

Andreas is one of the most cutting edge artist on the scene there, he has released under different monikers an impressive number of albums on some of the most distinguished electronic label,the legendary Mille Plateaux, Echochord, Raster Noton, Skudge or Kontra Musik to name a few.His music is produced with a large amount of vintage analog gear but still manages to sound futuristic and otherworldly. His techno takes his influences from Glitch, Dub or Drones and his work as a mastering engineer leaves its mark on its carefully crafted sound.
To support him local Analog fanatics Acid Pony Club will play live on a bunch of gear and Swatch/peace Hotel Resident Artist of the moment Christian Berg will man the decks, keeping it arty, and possibly a bit cold.
Friday 16th May -RAW & UNCUT #2 - WENSEN of VOID

After a spellbinding show last year, Shanghai's secret French DJ emerges from the shadows to conduct a funk-laden pantalon-shaking session at the city's top underground music spot, The Shelter. It's Raw and Uncut!
One of the city's unsung musical heroes, Wensen's modestly is dwarfed only by his DJ talent. A vinyl-only jock with a huge collection of scintilating house / funk / disco, he pulls out his big black discs and pair of large bulging record bags for all to marvel at.

For our first collaboration with Red Bull Music Academy, and for RBMA’s second event in Shanghai, we are excited to present Lit City Trax head honcho and member of Future Brown - J-Cush, alongside Fade 2 Mind artist Total Freedom!
As this is our first collabo with RBMA, we are pulling out all the stops, with a special installation by Kim Laughton, plus RBMA alumni Faded Ghost (ChaCha) & Siesta.

Thursday we’re stripping it back to the fundamentals: just me and Alta doing what we do best – tearing through the most vital in UK-influenced electronic music from Grime to Garage, to Deep Tech and Jackin’. The past 2 weeks I’ve been out on Thursday nights, and even though I’ve still had to work the next day, it still somewhat magically feels like Iv’e had a 3-day weekend by the time I reach Sunday. If you’re hesitant about Thursday raving then I suggest you go ahead and give it a go – you might be surprised. And besides, you’re not going to hear music like this anywhere else, any day of the week.

Alongside Sweatshop’s residents providing the old skool jungle flava live-and-direct, Siesta, Alta and Naaah are dusting off the dancefloor anthems that cultivated UK’s rave scene from 1988-1992. The last one was so amazing we are gonna step it up more this time with more lasers, glowsticks and horns. So come join us as we revisit the golden years of UK Dance Culture. You can expect a night of old skool hardcore rave sounds with some of the finest early jungle classics to boot.
Dress code: Florescent and lots of smileys. We will provide the whistles and horns.

After a special couple of nights with New York Transit Authority in April, we are super charged to follow up with something really a little bit special. UK producer, DJ and label head Bok Bok is gracing China with turntable skills and his newly minted second solo EP in his bag! His tastemaker label – Night Slugs, a label-cum-collective that Spin Magazine proclaims “has developed one of the most distinctive sounds in U.K. dance music, a mutable hybrid of grime, house, electro, R&B, techno, hip-hop, and dubstep.” is at the forefront of the latest renaissance in UK electronic music.

You may have missed entire 60’s & 70’s great music during the infamous cultural revolution, but that doesn’t mean nobody here cares. Soul Crates brings all the local Chinese DJs who have showed their passion on funky and soulful music in last decade together to show and share their passion. You will find out how deep those djs go and how well they mix everything.
