Whirlwind Week 1

That was pretty intense! JUE Week 1 flew by, leaving some of us inspired, some of us moved, and some of us very much immovable after long nights of intense partying. Make sure you check out all the amazing pics that are going live as we speak on the JUE Facebook.
Friday was a big night in Shanghai – we kicked things off with a showcase of Hangzhou talent in partnership with Lost Manual. By the end of the show we were sure that within the coming years Hangzhou will continue to surprise audiences in the bigger cities. Mabonona’s set provided a nice transition into the Pictureplane show at Arkham, which drew revellers from all over the shop.
We had an arts-packed weekend: talks, epic brunches, and visually stimulating digital displays. Do you have any cool pics? Don’t forget to submit them into the JUE NEXT GEN photography competition. All you have to do is post your pics on Instagram with the hashtag #JUENextGen2014.

Week 2 is where it starts to get serious. Get your mosh on, get your shins diggin’, and forget your worries. Peals of kick-drumming and tricked-out dirty rhythms are gonna send you off on one. Time Out Shanghai and Beijing have JUE hub pages, where you can get the latest on the artists we have coming over.

Our ops reckon these are the coolest guys to tour – they’re down to earth, fun loving beer guzzling lads who know how to put on a show. Red Bull sorted an interview with the band back in 2013, following the release of their latest album All Hail Bright Futures. This release sees the band take a tangent that explores a whole new world of sounds.

Get the low-down on Baths, who’s been gracing stages across Asia of late. Besides being very insightful, Time Out’s interview features the word ‘festooned’ which is the best word we’ve seen since ever. In all seriousness, it’s rare to have a Low End Theory alumni down this way, so if you’re a serious electronic fan you’ll need to tick this off your bucket list.
